rock love

i'm crazy about gardening...the berms have been a little intimidating though. mom has been helping me (a lot) to create structure--we are starting on the street side. (i failed to take some before pictures, but google street view gives a good representation of what it looked like in '07 prior to the overgrown weeds.) we are adding tried and true plants: hostas, coral bells, lady's mantle, lamb's ears, echinacea (cone flowers), ajuga weed, ferns, yukies, russian sage, lily of the valley, peonies, hydrangeas, columbine, and a few others. wow, i didn't realize how much variety so far.

it has taken us many weekends, including this past long hot one. here are two views.
mom did a super job and it's quite eye catching on the drive by. next year it will be fabulous.
